Version 4.1 Released
Published on 17 May, 2014
Plandroid version 4.1.0 has now been released. This is a major release with many new features, including: explicit design modes for creating refrigerated or evaporative designs, penetrations that connect duct between levels, ability to set vertical rise distances, symbols that can be resized on the canvas, rigid ducting that can be set to any depth, plus much more.
Plandroid version 4.1.0.0 is now available for download. You can also upgrade from Plandroid with the menu item Help -> Check for Updates, or the program will automatically upgrade if you are using the default upgrade settings.
Highlights in this version:
- There is a button for switching between refrigerated and evaporative system designs, which changes the loads calculated, and directs the automatic design tool to create a design of that type.
- Penetrations can connect duct between floor plan levels, and airflows are now calculated with flows between levels.
- Most symbols (including penetrations) can have their size set by dragging their resize handles.
- Vertical rise or drop distances can be set for all drawn parts (ducts, pipes, wires, etc) that increase the costed lengths and are included in airflow calculations.
- Rigid rectangular ducts can have their depths set to any value, which affects the airflow calculations. Rectangular reducers can connect duct of different depths.
- Arbitrary polygons can be cut from a floor plan with the plan image cut tool, and also pasted back in as a free image.
- Notes can be highlighted individually.
- The automatic design tool can be set to design only certain components, such as outlets only.
- There is a new air flow design mode "Balanced", which allocates the exact amount of air to each component that would be required if the design was perfectly balanced.
- Parts can have their "Printable" (Drawn) status edited by the user.
- Floor plan levels can be copied.
- Floor plan images can now be flipped as well as rotated.
- The default zone names can now be edited by the user.
- The catalogue Favourites are now much more robust and both parts and subtypes can be arranged in any order.
- The costing page supports filtering items by their plan level.
- The customer database used can now be linked to an external database.
- More catalogues have been added: National Air Parts, Ductair, Daikin Super Multi NX series and Seeley units, plus many catalogues have been updated.
- And much more!
