Version 4.2 Released
Published on 31 October, 2014
Plandroid version 4.2.0 has now been released. This is a major release with many new features, including: a new heating design mode, ducts and other user-drawn parts can show their lengths in their labels, the Add Notes Tool supports pinning notes for reuse, there is a new AutoRecover function, any parts on the canvas can be marked "not for printing", plus much more.
Plandroid version 4.2.0.0 is now available for download. You can also upgrade from Plandroid with the menu item Help -> Check for Updates, or the program will automatically upgrade if you are using the default upgrade settings.
Highlights in this version:
- There is a new heating design mode (for ducted gas heaters) in addition
to the existing design modes for refrigerated and evaporative systems.
Solving for air flows and auto-sizing ducts is also supported for gas
heaters.
- User-drawn parts can show their lengths in their labels, controlled by
the option (Tools -> Options -> Design -> Labels -> Show Labels
-> Drawn Part Sizes). Ducts and other drawn parts have this option
controlled separately.
- User-drawn parts take their labels from their catalog label, instead
of from their size.
- The Add Notes Tool -> Show Recent Notes now supports pinning and
unpinning notes to this list, so that you can retain valuable notes.
- There is a Tools -> Options -> General -> AutoRecover option for
automatically saving backup files, so that if the program does not
close down properly, some previous data can be restored.
- You can now select any parts on the canvas and select the context menu
item "Hidden when Printing" to directly control the "Not Printed" status
of any individual parts.
- A condenser will report the number of units it is connected to, the
total unit power it is connected to, and the maximum pipe run length
under its context menu item "Properties". This aids in designing VRV /
VRF systems.
- The program supports working in power units of MJ/h (for heating).
- The flow calculations have been modified to use a material correction
factor flexible ducts, instead of a separate material roughness.
- The flow calculations analytical coefficients have been tuned to give
improved results.
- More catalogs have been added: Westaflex, Westaflex SDS, and Paltech, plus many catalogs have been updated.
- And much more!
